Tourism definitions

Sustainable Tourism: Tourism that respects both local people and the traveller, cultural heritage and the environment.

Responsible Tourism: Tourism that creates better places for people to live in, and better places to visit

Geotourism: "Best practice" tourism that sustains, or even enhances, the geographical character of a place, such as its culture, environment, heritage, and the well being of its residents

Eco-hotels: A hotel or accommodation that has made important environmental improvements to its structure in order to minimise its impact on the environment

Eco tourism: Responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improve the well-being of local people

Voluntourism: Travel which includes volunteering or a charitable cause
